Mercy Oluchi Statter-Okoro

Co-Founder 

Co-Founder and Trustee of Martha's Dream. At the age of 19 left Nigeria and lived in Japan for 9 years. Returned briefly to Nigeria before getting married and moving to UK in 2000. She currently lives in Morecambe, UK,  and runs her own Cleaning business. She is the youngest daughter of the late Martha Okoro, the inspiration for Martha's Dream.


Mike Statter 

Co-Founder 
Co-founder and Trustee of Martha's Dream. After serving 5 years in the Royal Engineers, founded a career as a Carpenter & Joiner for the next 21 years. The last 5 years has seen a career change and now supports adults with a variety of needs. From September 2017 will be studying for a BA Hons degree in English Language and Linguistics at UCLAN. 

Luca Canal

Trustee
Luca comes from Italy, and is graduating in Chemical Engineering at Lancaster University, he is to continue his studies with a Masters Degree. Having met Mercy during his part-time job while studying, he got passionate about Martha's Dream Cause and became a trustee officially in May 2017. 

Michelle Pretelli

Trustee
Michelle is a Lancaster-born professional Nurse at Lancaster Royal Infirmary. After her undergraduate studies she moved to live in Italy, where she staid for several years. When coming back to Lancaster, she met Mercy and Mike. Throughout the years she supported Martha's Dream and in Early 2019 she decided to take a step up, and become a Trustee

Emmanuel Ikechi Okoro

On-site project coordinator 

"Before starting my role at Martha's Dream Academy I had been teaching at Primary and Secondary schools allover the World since I finished school. Around 10 years ago I moved back to Nigeria where I married my wife, had two children and worked managing my security business. Being the son of Martha and a Native of this village gives me the strengths to work every day harder to achieve my mother's dream and give a bright future to our students".

Lilian U. Oyiriaru

Head teacher, Primary 3 class teacher
Bachelor of Education in Economics - University of Nigeria (Nsukka)
"My name is Oyiriaru Lilian Uzochukwuamaka the Headmistress Martha's Dream Academy.  I was the first teacher when  the school firstly opened and since then have had a good and nice experience with the children. Our teaching is gradually creating a good impact in the children and in the village. Everyday I come to school with joy and enthusiasm, knowing that my job is helping hundreds of lives. "

Florence Nneoma Obi

Primary 1 class teacher
Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science - Michael Okpara University 
With a rich experience in teaching, Florence is one/ of the new entries recruited for the Academic Year 2018/19.
